THE UNDER RATED SUPERSTAR!!

He has been one of my favorite sportsperson. He is the one among the most consistent athletes for India at the international level for the past decade. He is THE UNDER RATED SUPERSTAR of India- SUSHIL KUMAR.

In a country obsessed with cricket, hardly athletes and players from other sports get the recognition, fame and respect which they deserve. It is so biased on part of we Indians, we treat cricketers as GOD!! And no matter how many laurels a sportsperson brings to the nation, how many medals and trophies he wins for the country, he will never get that love from the people that cricketers get.

One such example is Sushil Kumar. A humble person and a champion wrestler. A gold medal in the 66 kg freestyle competition at the FILA 2010 world wrestling championship, a gold medal at the Commonwealth games 2014 in men's 74 kg freestyle competition and a gold medal at the Asian championships in 2010.

He also won the bronze medal in the 66 kg freestyle competition at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and went on to win the silver medal at the London Olympics in 2012. This made him the first Indian to win back to back individual Olympic medals.

He did not participate in the Incheon Asian games, but he will return with yet another good performance and he is still the nation's biggest hope for a gold medal at the Rio Olympics to be held in 2016.

A RAINY EVENING AND YOU

I watch the clouds covering the sky

Drops falling on the ground

Small droplets falling from the blue
Each one of them reminding me of you

Google,Mercedes,Audi gets permit for self drive cars in California

Well it would be so good to sit back in the car while it will drive on its own. We saw Will Smith driving one such beauty in iRobot. It can turn reality soon!!

California has issued its first 29 permits this week to three companies to test self-driving cars on public roads. Google Inc got permits for testing 25 adapted Toyota Motor Corp Lexus SUVs, and two permits each went to Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen AG's Audi. Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Audi are all luxury brand vehicles. Audi was the first to apply for the permits, followed by Daimler and then Google. All the permits were issued on Tuesday, the first day they were required by California, which has the largest population of any US state. A few other automakers and first-tier automotive suppliers are in the process of filing for the permits. Autonomous car testing has been under way in California for several years without the permits, but the state's legislature has made permits a requirement for them to run on public roads. Among the California requirements to get a permit is the ability of test drivers to be able to take command of an autonomous vehicle at any time. Mercedes-Benz engineers will "teach" the autonomous cars how to operate safely on US roads using different methods than are used in the testing and development of the cars in Germany, according to officials at Daimler and Mercedes-Benz. Daimler and Volkswagen are both based in Germany, and Goggle is based in Silicon Valley in California. Audi said it was the first automaker to obtain a license for an autonomous car in Nevada, in 2012.

ALAS!! WE MEET: THE MEETING

I know it's been a long time since we met,
Still your memories are impossible to forget,

We could share a drink,
And catch up on the time that's past?
Funny how it flies by so fast
Can it be that long since I saw you last?
It can't be that long since I saw you last...

So, what's new?
How are you?
Got a minute to tell me
A thing or two?
A little chit chat on a sip of wine
Alongside a wonderful view...

So it's a date
And I would try not to be late
Yeah it's been long
Or may be its not that long
My happiness, you will see it
When we finally meet..

SLEEP AND DREAMS

I pen down these words, with a sense of dejavu in an effort to relate our activities before sleep to the dreams we eventually end up seeing that night.

When you wake up in the morning, having seen a dream last night may it be awesome or awkward; have you ever thought what you were doing or thinking before sleeping that night.

What were your dominant thoughts?? Were you thinking about your problems, your day, your future plans? well, its quite possible that you had a dream related to your thoughts. Our subconciuos mind likes to weave our problems into dreams as a way to help us work them out. A dream is nothing but a story scripted by our own mind; a screenplay of events in sequence.

Studies suggest that all the activities of the brain are stored in a structure called hippocampus and while we are in our initial hours of sleep i.e. slow wave sleep, this hippocamus is busy showing us movies on our frontal cortex. thus we probably had our best sleep and dreams as kids.

So before you go to sleep think about the life you always dream off and thats what it takes to wake up smiling to a beautiful sunshine.
